The distance learning course enables people to work while studying. The software necessary to students is made available to students during the year.
Two methods:
- Students who wish to combine their studies with a professional activity can complete the second year of the Master's degree through distance-learning.
- It is also possible to complete certain modules on campus and others by correspondence. Do not hesitate to contact us for more information.
Conditions for distance learning
The System
The whole teaching team (learners, teachers and coordinator) interacts via the distance learning platform. This platform is an integrated teaching virtual environment. This means that all information, organization, communication and info-sharing tools are available through a single application: a web browser. The platform is thus available at all times, and via any computer with an internet connection.
The Program
The course is organized in several seminars by correspondence and four group meetings, which last between three and five days at different times of the year. These on-campus meetings, which aim at facilitating the contact between the learners, take place at the University. They are part of the training, but the learners have to be present at two of these meetings only, in particular to take their exams. The first meeting makes them acquainted with the use of the learning platform interface, as well as with the team work which is the basis of the teaching method. The other meetings mostly offer conferences, by professional contributors.
The distance learning course is composed of a series of seminars, within which the learners, separated in small groups, have to deal with learning situations, case studies, open and contextualized problems. Each seminar goes together with an on-line course and other resources. Their contents can be used to deal with the learning situations. The seminars are punctuated by synchronized meetings between the learners and the tutor, but they consist more particularly of asynchronous work, and of course, of an individual research and writing work, which is necessary to any kind of learning process.
Supervision
A teacher-tutor is appointed for each seminar. His job is not to pass on knowledge, but to give active and benevolent help to all learning groups. He will accompany the group in its research, as well as in its decision-making and methodological processes.
Learners will also be accompanied throughout the course by the coordinator, Marie Lanery. She is the person to contact in case of technical problems, difficulties or for any information about the course. She will enroll the members of the community (tutors included) to the training program and determine the planning of seminars and dates of exams in accordance with the director of studies. She also makes sure of the regular attendance of every student.
