The Team

The second year CAWEB students from 2017-2018

Adriana Vrablova

Hi! I am Adriana and I chose this master for its variety of options. Currently, I am doing my Internship since July in the MIMESIS team at INRIA, French National Institute for Computer Science and Applied Mathematics, where I am a communication manager of an international team. This job requires a bit of everything which assures me of my choice of master. From October, I will do my apprenticeship here with similar activities. I look forward to visit San Francisco and see Silicon Valley. It is a great opportunity we are very fortunate to have it.

Anne-Sophie Leroy

Hi, I’m 22 and I work as a bilingual web writer. I feel really excited to discover San Francisco and to be part of this trip, which is my very first to the USA ! I expect to live a great personal and professional experience with the CAWEB team as we will have the opportunity to visit companies of the web industry.

Célia Casarramona

Hello! My name is Célia and I am currently working for the German company Zooplus, in Web-marketing and SEO. As a travel enthusiast, I can't wait to discover the so-called “City by the Bay”. It will be a great opportunity to meet professionals from the web and localization industry.

Coralie Ruiz

Hi there! I am Coralie and I have always been very passionate about foreign languages and webdesign. Therefore, while getting a degree in Spanish (LLCE Espagnol), I have been working as a freelance infographist for a publishing company, Fantasy-Editions.Rcl, for 4 years. Enrolling in the Master CAWEB is a great opportunity to expand my localization and multimedia skills. I also really look forward to the SF trip. Hopefully we will be able to connect with professionals and learn a lot about the web industry.

Eléna Viens

Hi! I’m joining the Master CAWEB this year and I’m looking forward to go to San Francisco. I’ve chosen to do my second year of master degree with the University of Strasbourg to have the great opportunity to spend three months in Saint-Petersburg. Travelling has become a passion and I can’t wait to experience this trip to the United States.

Fideline Coulaudoux

Hi, I'm Fideline! I'm a French-born and Canadian-raised student currently working in communication. After studying languages and translation for so long, I decided to further my education with this Master's. I move from country to country at least once a year and I can't wait to add new ones to my list.

Fiona Perret

Hi! I'm Fiona and I currently work as a webmaster and a community manager at the Euro-metropolis of Strasbourg. After spending a year studying on the East Coast of the US, I am excited to go to San Francisco with the Master CAWEB. Being able to go visit web American companies is a great opportunity for me as I have always been fascinated by the American culture. It will also be a chance to develop a network in a thriving region of the web industry.

Ioana Muresan

Hi, my name is Ioana and not so long ago this Masters' is pretty much the last thing I thought I would do! With a BA in Social work and a first MA in Management in Public Administration, I have spent my last 10 years or so working at the European Court of Human Rights in various positions, most recently in the IT Department. This led me to stumble across the online version of Harvard's CS50, which has kept me up more nights than anything I can recall, including my now teenage daughter when she was a baby 🙂 or now, for that matter! I soon found that web dev is a good (manageable!) first step for someone with absolutely no tech background but with a love of languages. With a 15+ years background in the nonprofit sector and empowered by my recent IT savvy :), I decided to co-set up an association that aims to launch coderdojos to encourage kids 7 to 17 to discover coding. While initially I saw my role as mostly on the admin side, I soon found myself mentoring kids in the web dev track.... which sparkled the new passion that led me to this program. All in all, I am REALLY excited to be joining the program, to be meeting you, and am looking forward to this wonderful opportunity! Thanks 🙂

Lisa Runner

Hello I'm Lisa. I join the second year of the master caweb and I'm in charge of web and content marketing in Wurth France, since one year. Previously, I had the occasion to work in many areas and now I would like to work in the fields in e-commerce and UX design. This trip will be the first for me in the USA, I can't wait to the businesses and discover the city of San Francisco!

Maxime Smolis

Hello! My name is maxime, I am student in second year EAD of the master Caweb. Being attracted to new tech and languages I decided to apply after a first year of study in a translation Master degree. During this year I am going on an Erasmus exchange in Italy for 5 months to study localization while studying remotely everything related to web development. Besides I am also part of the Caweb on Tour team and I am really excited to be on this adventure. It's definitely a great opportunity we are given to discover San Francisco and some Californian IT companies. It's my first time in the USA and hopefully not the last.

Nadine Vitalis

I already had the opportunity to travel several times to the United States, but I have never been to the West Coast. This trip to San Francisco will be a great opportunity to discover this city and contact companies.

I am very excited as it will be my first trip to the USA! I am looking forward to practicing my English and meet professionals from the web!

Madeleine Barois

Hi! I'm a CAWEB student and apprentice in localization engineering at translation agency Telelingua in Montreuil. With an academic and professional background in linguistics, I have a growing interest in informatics and the automation of internationalization and localization processes. On this trip, I'm looking forward to learning more about managing global language content on a large scale.

Willem Beckmann

I’m a linguist at heart and have always loved translation. Having first obtained a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, I soon shifted my focus to pursuing postgraduate studies in translation at the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. My years there were fruitful, since I managed to pass both my BA Honor’s and BA Master’s degrees with distinction. During that time, I developed a knack for research, and had the privilege to work as research assistant for Dr. Christopher Fotheringham, a well-known South African translation studies scholar. It became clear that I was a gifted translation scholar, and I was granted a year-long internship as a translator-trainer at the Wits Language School, South Africa. My next challenge is pursuing postgraduate studies in web localization at the University of Strasbourg, since it will allow me to succeed in the globalized translation market, significantly improve my French, and help me build an extensive professional network. As a member of the Caweb on Tour team, I will be focusing on copywriting, editing and translation. I will also be carrying out lesser administrative tasks on the side.
