Pitching yourself in the US

On Tuesday 6th October, the Caweb students went to Parisoma, a coworking open-space, to attend a 2-hour workshop.
We had the opportunity to meet Aurelia Laff, a web recruiter, who shared her knowledge about the complexity of the job-seeking process in the United States.

Relevant differences between the French and American systems were discussed.

The importance of networking in the US was emphasized, as connections are the most important to find a job. We also learned how to write an American resume and how to react to some specific questions in a job interview. The President and “Recruiting Wizard” of Unlocked Talent gave us precious advice all along the workshop to improve the way we present ourselves in a professional environment.

Thanks to small exercises, we were able to experiment these new practices and efficiently prepare ourselves to meet recruiters during the week.
