UpWork

“Our receptionist is a freelancer”, says Rich Pearson, senior vice-president of Upwork. Upwork, a new brand which merges both website Elance and oDesk, is a hiring platform connecting freelancers and companies. The company uses a “matching algorithm” as a significant improvement that will help both parties to find the right match in a very short amount of time. The projects / job offers published on the platform can be web or mobile development, design, IT, as well as translation or even writing projects.

Everyone can sign up to be a freelancer on the website and get feedback for the projects they have worked on. Upwork’s platform also comes with a mobile and messaging app.

In the past year, they have worked with 4 million clients, 10 million registered freelancers who did more than $1 billion in work.
